We are pleased to announce our new partnership with WildArk, an Australian conservation movement with a global impact. WildArk.org’s mission is to promote and support activities that educate, enable, provide resources or inspire humanity to sustainably conserve, protect or restore the environment and the world’s ecosystems, natural resources, wildlife and wild places.
What we really love about working with WildArk is that they have a global stragey (backed by science) for protecting the world's biodiversity. The WildArk100 is a scientifically proven list of 100 threatened flagship species, and 50 global priority ecosystems that will help prioritise global conservation efforts. Combining data on protected areas, the distribution of human impacts, and the ranges of over 19,000 terrestrial and freshwater species worldwide to identify the most efficient network of locations that represent global terrestrial and freshwater biodiversity. Their scientists then merged both sets of data into a custom framework that identifies priority places for conservation that also play host to suitable flagship species in order to maximise the benefits to biodiversity.
WildArk launched the Koala Comeback Campaign to support the protection and recovery of Australia’s endangered species to prevent extinction in the aftermath of the 2019-2020 catastrophic bushfires. They are actively working on the ground with partners in Australia to plant trees and restore wildlife habitat. NSW is home to some of the most iconic Australian wildlife including; koalas, wombats, and kangaroos to name a few.
