WHAT IS THE ST. ROSE DEFINITION FOR CLEAN?

At ST. ROSE we give these words meaning backed not only by research but we also bare all and provide our customers with full transparency of our ingredients. We define "Clean" as being free of ingredients shown or suspected to pose a health concern to either people or the Earth. Our definition of 'natural' follows the International Organization for Standardization (ISO.org) which states that natural aromatic raw materials are defined by ISO norm 9235 as substances that are isolated from plant materials by purely physical means such as steam distillation or expression. At ST. ROSE, we take an uncompromising approach - clean also has to be luxurious, high-performance, sophisticated, and equally gentle to the Earth as it is on skin.

Clean means more to us than a list of what our formulations are “Free Of” which includes;  BHT, phenoxyethanol, parabens, phthalates, and nitro, polycylic and alicyclic musks.

At ST. ROSE, “clean” is comprised of these elements:

We never use ingredients shown or suspected to pose a health concern to either people or the Earth. These include petrochemicals or ingredients that have a bioaccumulative concern.

The quality of ST. ROSE fragrances is the result of rigorous selection of ingredients. Every single essence brought onto our perfumers’ palette adheres to our stringent guidelines for human and environmental health. We make it our priority to know where a material comes from - whether a plant, a mineral, a laboratory or some combination of these - so that we can pass that information on to our customers.

At ST. ROSE we prefer the rich olfactive experience that nature offers, but we opt for skin-safe naturally-derived or nature-identical materials when there is a hypoallergenic or environmental benefit.

Ingredients are grown in harmony with the Earth, without the use of toxic or unsustainable pesticides or manufacturing aides. Additionally they provide longterm support and positively impact the livelihoods of the local community.

Clean can mean very different things to different people and in an under-regulated space, they might not mean much at all. We back up our research by openly sharing the ingredients in our formulas.

Ingredients and products are not tested on animals, and the people who grow, harvest, mine and manufacture the materials are paid fairly and treated respectfully.

We consider the potential effects of both the formula and packaging when it is washed down the drain, recycled or thrown in the landfill.

We remain vigilant to ensure that our ingredients are gentle to skin and Earth. We apply the same scrutiny to detail in the design of our product packaging as we do the fragrance inside ...

We prioritize eco-friendly and responsibly sourced packaging materials resulting in a renewed approach to modern luxury. The parfum glass bottle, metal cap and pump are crafted in Nice, France. Labels and boxes are constructed in the USA and cut from FSC Certified paper ensuring no virgin forest are ever used.

Our Recycle Program encourages customers to mail their empty Eau de Parfum (50ml) bottles back to us for proper disassembly and recycling processing. As a thank you for joining in our efforts to reduce waste, customers will be sent a $25 gift card towards their next Eau de Parfum purchase.

ARE ST. ROSE FRAGRANCES NATURAL?

Our fragrance oils contain over 90.0% natural essential oils and materials as defined by iso standard 9235 – aromatic natural raw materials vocabulary. We also use the innovation of green science to incorporate vegan musk and skin-safe naturally-derived and nature-identical aroma molecules where there is an environmental or hypoallergenic benefit. These aromatic materials are blended in organic and non-GMO sugarcane alcohol.

WHAT IS THE COOL FACTOR™ MOVEMENT?

In collaboration with Australian conservation movement WildArk, for every ST. ROSE purchase we plant and protect native trees in threatened ecosystems. The benefit to planting trees is not only generating a carbon offset but also protecting wildlife and supporting local communities.

Trees truly have the power to keep our earth cool. Trees perform three major climate functions: They absorb carbon dioxide, which they pull from the atmosphere, creating a cooling effect; their dark green leaves absorb light from the sun, and they draw water from the soil, which evaporates into the atmosphere, creating low clouds that reflect the sun's hot rays (a mechanism known as evotranspiration that also leads to cooling).

Over one year a mature tree will take up about 22 kilograms, or 48 pounds, of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and in exchange release oxygen. (source)

1 purchase = 1 tree = 48 lbs of CO2 sequestered.

In immediate response the the devastating bushfire crisis in Australia this year we are supporting the restoration of native* trees in the Australian state of New South Wales. NSW is home to some of the most iconic Australian wildlife including; koalas, wombats, and kangaroos to name a few.

*Species planted are predominantly drought-tolerant Eucalypts, woody-stemmed Acacias, and rainforest trees that are endemic to the area.

We work with our conservation partner to ensure that trees planted are natives that will positively impact the natural ecosystem.

For our NSW restoration project the species planted are predominantly drought-tolerant Eucalypts, woody-stemmed Acacias, and rainforest trees that are endemic to the area.
