OUR LATEST LAUNCH IS TRULY POETRY FOR THE SENSES
Introducing our first gourmand perfume, a luxuriant amber floral inspired by founder, Belinda Smith’s personal belief that one of the secrets to life is to romanticize every moment. It is no surprise that Paris, a city that exudes a ‘joie de vivre’ served as an apt backdrop during the conception phase of this latest creation. In fact, in true fashion of ‘art inspiring art,’ browsing through the racks of a small stall selling vintage books along the Seine River is where a muse for the name was discovered - a copy of the rebel poet, Rimbaud’s avant-garde, and surrealist works “Illuminations.” Smith, “Fleurs, is one of my favorite passages that speaks to the ephemeral beauty of nature and was top of mind throughout this creation process.”
Smith shared her creative vision with industry icon and friend, Frédéric Pignault, who artistic directed from his home in Aix-en-Provence in the South of France. The scent itself was developed by renowned French-American master perfumer at Givaudan, Caroline Sabas. Caroline grew up in Grasse, the heart of the French perfume industry and began her career working as an in-house perfumer at Chanel before moving from Paris to New York.
‘French Poetry’ is an embodiment of exquisite craftsmanship and when asked about her inspiration behind the scent Caroline said, “French Poetry is a love letter to my homeland. In Grasse, France where flower fields danced perennially, their aromas are etched deep into my memory. As we crafted this scent, it felt instinctive to intertwine gardenia and freesia with textured pear skin, the embrace of creamy sandalwood, and a soft upcycled vanilla that casts a lasting warmth. This symphony is my form of poetic prose.”
Conjuring images of a lavish soirée set amongst a Parisian garden, this scent indulges in notes of Italian bergamot and pear, while musks and classic florals leave a mouthwatering impression for the wearer. French muguet, and jasmine intertwine gracefully before unfolding to a base of seductive vanilla, sandalwood, and rich amber. A luxuriant gourmand fragrance, ‘French Poetry’ seeks to bottle a romantic’s daydream.
