Mia Moretti on scent, sound, and surrendering to summer.
To know Mia Moretti is to understand the art of atmosphere. A genre-blending DJ with a reverence for gospel house and a passport full of soulful influences, she doesn’t just play music—she tells stories in rhythm. Her 2023 debut EP Tambor introduced a bold new chapter as a producer, layering heavy samples with rich musicality. Since then, she’s reunited with gospel house icon Vonita White for the triumphant “Best I Can” and is now preparing two new releases: a disco-house drop with Crosstown Rebels and a new EP on her own imprint, Spaghetti Moretti Records.
For the launch of our sun-soaked scent Crazy Love, we asked Mia to create a custom mixtape. The result? A languid, sensual soundtrack for the kind of summer love you remember long after the tan fades. Here, she reflects on scent and memory, musical roots, and what luxury really means today ...

What was on repeat in your childhood home?
My house was serenaded by the strum of the guitar. Usually after dinner, my dad and brother would play for my mom and me—or any guests we had. The Beatles, The Eagles, Elton John, The Grateful Dead, Jackson Browne… All the classic rock hits. Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Dylan. Lots of Dylan.
We also listened to a lot of reggae and went to Reggae in the Park at Golden Gate Park in the summers. The Bay Area was full of music everywhere.
Scent and sound both linger in memory—do you have a fragrance that transports you?
Yes. Bvlgari soap reminds me of the first time I fell in love hard. It was the soap at the hotel we were staying at in Rio. Every time I smell it, I remember every detail of that moment.
"Every time I smell it, I remember every detail of that moment in Rio."
Your Crazy Love mixtape is a dreamscape—if it were a place, where would it be?
It’s a Tuesday morning—or is it Wednesday? I’ve lost track a bit. There’s a light sandy breeze coming through the open door. The sheets are crisp and bright white. I roll over and stretch out the length of the bed. I can, because it’s just me in there. The smell of coffee starts to come in from next door. I roll back over and fall into a light dream state as I imagine what I’ll prepare from yesterday’s market leftovers.
If you could pair a fragrance with a single track, what would the opening note of Crazy Love sound like?
It’s a familiar voice, like an old lover you return to. Soon it’s wrapped in soft wavy strings—like the way a head of long messy curls wrap around you. Shakers saunter in, and a lazy horn introduces itself. The voice comes in and out… maybe it’s all just in your imagination.
"A familiar voice, like an old lover you return to ..."
In the spirit of Club Rose—what does luxury mean to you right now?
Luxury is the confidence to trust myself wholly.
How will you spend the Summer Solstice?
I’m currently in Latvia. The sun sets around ten-thirty but it stays quite bright until midnight or so. Around four a.m., the sun reintroduces herself and we start the day again.
